Story - Ghulam Of God

Ibrahim was the emperor of Balkh. Tired of worldly pleasures, he started doing Satsang of mystics. Sitting in the wilderness, he meditated. One day he heard the voice of an angel, 'Wake up before death comes and shakes you.

Know yourself who you are and why you have come into this world. On hearing this voice, tears started flowing from the eyes of Saint Ibrahim. He felt that during his reign, he had committed a lot of sin by considering himself as big. They started asking God for the forgiveness of those sins.

One day he left the palace and left. By doing solitude in the cave of Nishapur, he conquered internal enemies like lust, anger, greed, etc. He also went on the Hajj pilgrimage and continued to do Satsang of the mystics who had reached Mecca as well.

One day they were going to a city when the watchman asked, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'Slave. ' The watchman again asked, 'Where do you live, so this time the answer was received, 'In the graveyard.'

The soldier mistook them as a prankster, but as soon as he came to know that they were Saint Ibrahim, he fell at their feet and started asking for forgiveness. The saint said, 'What is the point of asking for forgiveness after all? You have flogged a body that has committed sins for many years. '

After stopping for a moment, he said, 'All human beings are slaves of God and the last home of the slaves is the graveyard.'

Story - Fear Of Death

It is said in the Padma Purana, 'Whoever takes birth, his death is certain. Therefore, instead of being afraid of death, efforts should be made to make death auspicious through good deeds.

Jain saint Acharya Tulsi used to narrate a Bodh Katha, a fisherman used to catch fish from the sea and earn his living by selling them. One day a merchant came and sat beside him. He asked, 'Friend, do you have a father?'

He replied, 'No, he was swallowed by a big fish in the sea.' He asked again, 'And your elder brother? ' The fisherman replied, 'Because the boat sank, he got into the sea.'

The merchant again asked, 'How did Grandfather and uncle die?' The fisherman told that they too had got absorbed in the sea. When the merchant heard this, he said, 'Friend, this ocean is the cause of your destruction, yet you come and cast a net on its banks. Aren't you afraid of dying??

The fisherman said, 'Brother, the day death has to come, it will come. Hardly any of your family members, grandfather, great-grandfather, father would have come to this sea. Still, they all left. No one has been able to understand when death comes and how it comes. Then why should I be afraid of dying unnecessarily?

Lord Mahavira had said, 'Nanagamo Machumuhasya Atthi' means death can come from any door, so only the enlightened can be saved from the fear of death.

Story - The Drummer Of Knowledge

A wealthy acquaintance of Calcutta came to meet the spiritual figure Shri Hanumanprasad Poddar. He said, 'When I go to a pilgrimage, I must donate.' He also showed a newspaper in which his picture was printed while donating clothes to someone.

Poddarji said, 'You have made your charity fruitless in a single day, whereas the virtue of charity lasts for a long time. It is said in the scriptures that one who donates with the desire of praise or some kind of revenge, he can never get its virtuous fruit.'

He paused for a few moments and said, 'It is said in the Padma Purana that man gets wealth and wealth by the grace of God, so it should be used cautiously in the upkeep of his family.

A large part of it should be used in religious works like Yagya etc. and in service to the needy people. Donation should be done assuming that God's things are being offered to God.

If one donates in ego to reveal himself to be a great god, then he becomes a partaker of sin instead of virtue. ’ Poddarji says, ‘The person who helps with selfless service, the Lord has a mercy-seeing on him.

The man who performs service out of lust must be pretended. That is why it has been said that while donating to someone with one hand, the other hand should not even know about it. Gupt donation is considered to be the best donation in the scriptures.

Story - Honoring The Guru

Pandit Radheshyam, who composed in the specific poetic style of Shri Ram Katha, used to yearn for the Satsang of the saints and the narrators. He had unrelenting reverence for Sant Oriya Baba, Shri Haribaba, Anandmayi Maa, and Saint Prabhudatta Brahmachari.

With the inspiration of Prabhudutt Brahmachariji, he had made Mahamana Pandit Madanmohan Malviya his guru. Pandit Radheshyamji used to get emotional after hearing the Bhagwat story from the Shrimukh of Malaviyaji.

Malaviyaji also got unique satisfaction by listening to the rendition of Ramayana written by Radheshyamji. From time to time, he used to invite them from Bareilly to Kashi and organize their story.

Once, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, Pandit Radheshyamji reached Kashi along with Saint Prabhudutt Brahmachari and presented a precious shawl and sweets to his Guru Malaviyaji.

Malaviyaji was urged to wear a shawl. He had specially prepared this shawl for Guru Dakshina. After some time suddenly the South Indian Sanskrit teacher of Hindu University came to see Malaviyaji.

Malaviyaji was greatly influenced by his detached and ascetic life. Pointing to the teacher, Radheshyam said to the narrator, 'He has made many students study Devvani and Dharmashastras by doing rigorous spiritual practice. Such ascetic teachers are our role models.

While saying that, he covered them with that shawl. Radhe Shyam Ji was stunned to see his detached spirit and reverence for the ideal teacher.
