Goku Story

The now 11-year-old Goku meets a new person for the first time in his life, a woman named Bulma. He joins her in the search for the seven Dragon Balls, and the pair go through many adventures, meeting new companions and acquaintances along the way, including Master Roshi, who hones his martial arts and teaches him several important moves he will use in the future. Together they collect six of the seven Dragon Balls but lose them when captured.

Goku helps his friends escape from captivity by becoming a Great Ape. Goku then leaves his friends for a while and returns to training with Master Roshi. During this time, he meets another student, Krillin, with whom he becomes friends. Goku participates in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, and does well, although he loses in the final round. After the tournament, Goku leaves to see the world, where he encounters many adventures while searching for the Dragon Balls left by his grandfather.

During this quest he constantly has to contend with the mysterious Red Ribbon Army and the various agents it sends to kill him. Goku manages to single-handedly defeat the army and obtains the six Dragon Balls. He attempts to uncover the location of the final ball with the help of a fortune teller named Baba, who tells him and his friends its location after fighting five of her warriors. He uses the ball to summon the dragon Shenron to bring his friend back to life. He continues training and eventually participates in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, but is defeated by Tien Shinhan in the finals.

Goku's friend Krillin is murdered by Tambourine, one of King Piccolo's sons. While trying to avenge his friend, he is defeated by Tambourine, as he is still weakened from his battle with Tien, but a fully recovered Goku easily kills him in a confrontation afterward. An enraged King Piccolo nearly kills Goku, but after recovering from his defeat, he seeks out the Ultra Divine Water, which can unlock his powers or kill him.

Escaping the water, he goes to King Fury's castle, where he kills Piccolo's second son and challenges the king himself to a fight. The two have a long and fierce battle in which both are badly injured. Eventually, Goku manages to kill Piccolo by punching him in the chest. With his last breath, Piccolo spits out an egg that contains his reincarnation, Piccolo Jr. Unaware of this, Goku begins searching for a possible way to revive Dragon Shenron.

This leads him to the Earth's guardian, Kami, and eventually the resurrection of all the friends Piccolo had killed. Goku then begins training with Kami and Mr. Popo in preparation for the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. Despite suffering from severe injuries, Goku defeats Piccolo in the final round and becomes the winner of the tournament. Goku and Chi-Chi, a young woman he met while traveling, marry.

Now living with his wife and young son Gohan, Goku's life is interrupted by the arrival of Raditz, his long-lost brother. Raditz tells him of his Saiyan heritage, as well as telling him that he must take over Earth. Upon refusing to complete this mission, Goku is attacked by Raditz, who kidnaps Gohan and instructs him to kill one hundred humans or have his son killed.

Goku joins forces with Piccolo, and with Gohan's help they defeat Raditz, although Goku also dies. Traveling through other worlds, Goku begins preparing for the arrival of more Saiyans. His friends wish him back to life, but it takes some time for him to come back, and by the time he does, many of his friends have been killed by the Saiyans, Vegeta, and Nappa. Goku easily defeats Nappa and manages to defeat Vegeta after a long battle. He decides to spare the injured Vegeta's life after the fight.

Severely injured, Goku spends some time in the hospital before being fully healed by a Senzu Bean. Goku then heads to the planet Namek where his friends are searching for the Namekian Dragon Balls. There, he engages in battle with members of the villain Frieza's elite fighters, the Ginyu Force.

He manages to defeat many of them but is severely injured after a fight with their leader due to a special attack that allows the user to switch bodies with the victim. He retreats to recover, and in the meantime, Frieza arrives and attacks Goku's friends. He returns and finds the war turning against his friends. Enraged by Krillin's death, Goku transforms into his Super Saiyan form, which turns the tide of the war in his favor.

Eventually, he defeats Frieza. He leaves the planet in the Ginyu Force's ship, which takes him to the planet Yardrat. His friends on Earth believe him to be dead, but later when they try to revive him they discover that he is alive.

Returning to Earth two years later, Goku encounters Trunks, Bulma, and Vegeta's son from the future. The boy warns him of future events, and tells him of a cure for a virus he knows is coming shortly. At this time, a new villain emerges, named Cell. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Trunks travel to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to undergo intense training; there, Gohan is discovered to be potentially more powerful than Goku.

They exit the chamber and Goku begins preparing to fight Cell, also bringing Earth's new guardian, Dende, to create new Dragon Balls so he can correct the mistakes made by Cell. At the Cell Games, Goku fights Cell at full strength but finds himself unable to defeat his opponent. He loses the match, relying on Gohan to defeat Cell. Gohan does so, and Cell attempts to destroy the planet in revenge.

Goku steps in and takes them both to King Kai's planet, resulting in the deaths of both him and Cell, as well as King Kai. Cell manages to resurrect himself, and Goku, trapped in the Other World, encourages Gohan to fight him. After Cell is completely destroyed, Goku insists that he be allowed to die, as he believes all the troubles on Earth are caused by him.

He briefly returns to Earth seven years later to participate in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. There, he meets his youngest son, Goten, and becomes embroiled in defeating the evil sorcerer Babidi, who plans to steal Gohan's Super Saiyan energy. They attack Babidi's ship, and Babidi takes possession of Vegeta, then goads Vegeta and Goku into fighting each other. The two fight for a while before Goku attempts to stop the fight so they can team up to defeat Babidi's monster, Majin Buu.

He is knocked unconscious by Vegeta, who then leaves him. He seeks healing from Dende and teleports all of his friends to him, teaching Trunks and Goten how to perform the Fusion Dance, which will combine them into a much more powerful being. Goku then fights Majin Buu using his powerful Super Saiyan 3 form. He easily holds his own against the monster but is unable to defeat it.

The strain of maintaining the form forces him to return to the Other World. There, he observes the battle between Majin Buu and the newly formed Gotenks through a crystal globe. Gotenks performs well but is ultimately unable to defeat the monster and is absorbed into it, just as Gohan was. Goku returns to Earth and he and Vegeta combine to become Vegito, and easily defeat the monster.

Vegito allows himself to be absorbed into the monster to save his friends and family. After a brief battle, he succeeds and Vegeta and Goku are returned to their normal bodies. Kid Buu destroys the planet, briefly killing most of the inhabitants, but they soon recover. Goku fights Kid Buu and gathers energy from most of the sentient beings around him (using the Genki Dama technique) to destroy Kid Buu.
