Today Special Good Morning Images
Once upon a time, a sage lived in a village. That sage used to do sadhana and meditation in his ashram. One day, he saw in the garden of his ashram that a snake was trying to take away some animals in its grip. The sage saw that the animal was screaming in great fear.
The sage asked the snake, “What are you doing, and why is that animal so afraid?
The snake replied, “Dear sage, I am hungry and need food. “I want to catch that animal to eat, but it is screaming out of fear.”
The sage explained, “Snake try to find other options for food. This animal is screaming in fear as it fights for the safety of its life. We all living beings fight for the safety of our lives.”
The sage further said, “You are a snake, you have the option to eat other living beings such as birds, small animals, and fruits and flowers. If you want to satisfy your hunger, take the help of these. They can save you from harm and satisfy your hunger, without harming any living being.”
The snake listened to the sage's advice and looked at other options in his search for food. He saw that a porcupine (peacock) was sitting in the garden of the ashram. The snake called the porcupine in his direction and said, “Hey Porcupine, can you help me? I am hungry and I need food. Can you suggest me something to eat?”
The porcupine looked carefully at the snake and said, “Look snake, you may be dangerous for me, but I also want to keep myself safe. I don't know how to help you except by changing my wings and my beauty in the sun. But you meet the little animals who live in another part of the garden
The snake followed the porcupine's advice and went to the small animals living in another part of the garden. There he saw a rabbit, a mongoose, and a nilgai.
The snake carefully looked at these animals and said, “Hello friends, I am hungry and I need food. Can you suggest me something to eat?”
The rabbit advised him to eat a certain food, “O snake, you go to the fields and eat the grass. Grass will be an easy and nutritious food for you.”
The miser added to this and said, “Yes, snakes can search for grass in the fields for food. But be careful, because some farmers can harm you.”
Nilgai also gave his suggestion, “O snake, you take a walk in the forest and eat the leaves of trees and plants. It will give you energy and will be good as food.”
The snake thanked all those animals and supported them. Following the rabbit's advice, he set out for the fields. He started searching for grass in the fields and very soon satisfied his hunger. He was happy that the rabbit had suggested a good food that was safe for him.
After spending the day, the snake went back to the sage in his garden and said, “Respected sage, I followed your advice and ate the grass in the fields, keeping in mind the advice of the rabbit. I was successful in satisfying my hunger and did not cause any harm to any living being.”
The sage said happily, “Very good, snake. You chose the right path and cooperated with other living beings. “It gives the message that we are all part of nature and we should help each other.”
The snake continued his story and said, “When I was eating grass in the fields, the rabbit kept warning me to avoid dangers. After this, I went into the forest and learned about trees and plants from the Nilgai. When I used cooperation and understanding, I satisfied my hunger and did no harm to other living beings.”
Congratulating the Sadhu, he said, “You have understood that cooperation and understanding teach us to live as a brotherhood with everyone. When we respect all beings and help each other, we create harmony and peace.”
This story tells us that we should cooperate with all living beings and always act wisely. We can help each other by establishing a feeling of brotherhood and understanding. When we come together and work in the spirit of harmony and love, we create an ever-happy and peaceful society.
The snake understood that there could be different forms of food among living beings and that he should respect each one. It makes us realize that we can achieve our goals through cooperation and mutual understanding rather than conflict with all living beings.
What lesson did we learn from this story?
From this story, we learned that we need mutual life support and we should live with each other with understanding and harmony. This way, we all benefit and we can create a happy, conflict-free, and loving society.
