Tattoos History

Nowadays the first choice of youth is tattoo design. Sometimes getting a tattoo of someone's name, sometimes getting a design done in that tattoo, is becoming the first choice of the youth. Usually, a tattoo is raised on the body by adding color under the skin which becomes an indelible mark on the body. This beautiful design made on the body enhances the beauty of people in many ways.

Especially these days it is very popular among girls and girls sometimes get it made on their neck and sometimes on their wrists. But have you ever wondered when this tattoo design started and how it became popular in India? If not, then we tell you how this tattoo design came to India and what is its story.

What is The History Of Tattoo Design?

The earliest evidence of tattoo art dates back to 5000 BC. Over time and across cultures, tattoos have come in many different forms and come to have different meanings. But when it comes to its history, it becomes difficult to find any correct proof of it. Yet there is a belief that tattoo design is actually an ancient art. Which developed between 3370 BC to 3100 BC.

Tattoo Design Tradition In Western China

Some cemeteries in western China in Xinjiang province have a history of many tattoo designs. In fact, there were many mummies found with tattoo designs that were dated to 2100 BC, while some were said to be from 550 BC. Let it be said that in ancient Chinese practices, tattoo designs were considered a bit barbaric. A special type of tattoo was made on the faces of the prisoners there so that they could be identified in the future. On the other hand, mummies with tattoos found in ancient Egypt tell that this art has been in practice there since at least 2000 BC. Tattoo designs in Egypt used to be related to the treatment of a particular disease. On the other hand, according to another popular belief, tattoos in ancient Egypt were related only to women, which shows their personality.

History Of Tattoo Designs in India

For hundreds of years, the tradition of tattooing was revered in the agricultural and forest regions of India. Ancient labyrinth-like carvings on prehistoric rocks were copied by tribal communities on their bodies. They tattooed the process which in Hindi is called burying the needle, showing those marks as ornaments – such ornaments no one could take away from them, even if they lost all their worldly possessions. Most of India's tattooed tribes lived in the remote interior of the country. The tattoo design became most popular among the tribal tribes, in which the Apatani tattoo design was most popular. In the process of this tattoo design, thorns are used to cut the skin, and soot mixed with animal fat is used to fill in the dark blue color. The wounds were then allowed to become infected so that the tattoos became larger, darker, and clearer. The Indian government banned it in the 1970s, but the practice still persists in some of the untouched interiors of the Northeast. The history of tattoos in India is very old. Tattoos were very common in Tamil Nadu before the 1980s and these tattoos were used to mark people belonging to different tribes in India. In earlier times, people of different castes and tribes used to make tattoos for their identity.

Tattoos Became The First Choice Of Youth

It was not known when this art of tattoo design, which has been prevalent since ancient times, became the first choice of the youth. Nowadays every youth likes to add this design to their style and with time many different variations have also become popular.
