Describing violence and other vicious tendencies as the reason for the downfall, Shri Krishna said, 'O great-armed Arjuna, a person who commits violence to live beings, who makes life worthless by being entangled in greed and attachment, falls down,

But a person who neither envies nor desires, should always be considered a sannyasin, a mahatma because a man devoid of the dualities of attachment and aversion, etc. becomes happily free from the bondage of the world.'

Lord Sri Krishna further says, the one whose mind is full of discontent and lack, he is poor. One whose mind is not attached to objects, he is capable-free and always feels peace.'

Giving importance to the devotees, Shri Krishna said, 'I constantly walk after the devotee thinking that the dust of his feet will fly on me and I will become pure.

Story - Freedom From The Clever

He has said, 'Santashcharitrabhushanah', that is, the saint is the one whose ornaments are virtuous. Tulsi also says, 'Sant Hriday Jas Nirmal Bari and Chandan Taru Hari Sant Samir.' True saints always infuse the hymns of God and others with the fragrance of good thoughts.

Story - Restraint Of Speech

Philosophers have called the control of the senses the main means of success in life. Devarshi Narada while preaching says, 'The senses should be used at least for performing the necessary actions.

Control of the senses is possible only by controlling the mind. It is good to use speech as little as possible. There are many visible benefits of restraint of speech.

One who controls his speech automatically avoids the sins of condemning someone, fear of making enemies by speaking harsh words, pride, etc.

Once Lord Buddha was sitting concentrated under a tree while observing the fast of silence. A crooked person who hated him passed by.

Jealousy arose in his mind - he stood near the tree and uttered abusive words against Buddha. Buddha remained silent. Seeing them calm, he turned back.

On the way, his conscience cursed him - what did he get by abusing a quiet sitting monk? The next day he again reached Buddha. He said with folded hands, 'I apologize for the behavior I did yesterday.'

Buddha said, 'I am not what I was yesterday. You are not like that either. Because life is passing every moment. One cannot descend in the same water of the river again.

When they come back, that water flows away and goes ahead. I don't know what you said yesterday, and when I didn't hear anything, these words came back to you. Buddha's words easily told him the importance of restraint of speech.

Story - Seth And The Farmer

A rich man became very proud of his immense wealth. He would often tell his son that no one else has the means of comfort and convenience that he has. He used to say that if you see the condition of the villages, then you will know how much people spend their days in deprivation.

One day he took the son in a car and took him to a village. In the village, he reached the house of a familiar farmer. The farmer welcomed him with great love.

He was fed hot milk kept in an earthen pot, fed hot loaves with fresh butter, whey, and vegetables. While returning, put jaggery and sugarcane in the car.
