Why Is Dussehra Celebrated?

This festival of Dussehra is also called Vijayadashami, it is called the festival of celebration. In today's time, it is a symbol of the victory of good over evil. Evil can be in any form like anger, untruth, envy, jealousy, sorrow, laziness, etc. Eliminating any internal evil is also a self-victory and we should celebrate it every year on Vijay Dashami by eliminating such evil from our side so that one day we can rule all our senses.

It is a festival celebrated to celebrate the victory of good conduct over bad conduct. Generally, Dussehra is a festival celebrated as a celebration of victory. Everyone's recognition of celebration is different. For example, for farmers, it is a celebration of the arrival of new crops at home. In the olden times, tools and weapons were worshiped on this day, as they saw it as a celebration of victory in the war. But there is only one reason behind all this, the victory of good over evil. For the farmers, it is a celebration of the crops that came in the form of victory of hard work and for the soldiers, it is a celebration of victory over the enemy in the war.

What Is The Story Of The Dussehra Festival, Why Is It Celebrated?

There are many stories behind the day of Dussehra, which the most popular story is that of Lord Rama winning the war, that is, destroying the evil of Ravana and breaking his pride.

Rama was the prince of the city of Ayodhya, his wife's name was Sita and he had a younger brother, whose name was Lakshmana. King Dasharatha was the father of Rama. Due to his wife Kaikeyi, these three had to leave the city of Ayodhya for fourteen years of exile. During the same exile, Ravana kidnapped Sita.

Ravana was a great king of Chaturvedi, who had a Lanka of gold but had immense arrogance. He was a great Shiva devotee and called himself an enemy of Lord Vishnu. In fact, Ravana's father Visharva was a Brahmin and his mother was of the demon clan, so Ravana had the same knowledge as a Brahmin and the power of a demon and these two things were arrogant in Ravana. To end which Lord Vishnu took Ramavatar.

Rama fought with Ravana to bring back his Sita, in which the monkey army and Hanuman Ji supported Rama. In this war, Ravana's younger brother Vibhishana also supported Lord Rama and in the end, Lord Rama killed Ravana and destroyed his pride.

How Is Dusshera Celebrated Today?

In today's time, Dussehra is celebrated by considering these mythological stories as the medium. After the end of nine days of Mata, the tenth day is celebrated as a celebration. In which Ram Leela is organized in many places, in which artists become characters of Ramayana and present this war of Ram-Ravana in the form of a drama.

Dussehra Fair

In many places, it is muddy on this day, in which many shops and food and drink events are organized. Theatrical plays are performed in the same events.

On this day people clean their vehicles in homes and worship them. Merchants worship their accounts. Farmers worship their animals and crops. Engineers worship their tools and their machines.

On this day all the men and children of the house go to Dussehra Maidan. There Ravana burns the effigies of Kumbhakaran and Ravana's son Meghnath. Celebrate this legendary victory with all the townspeople. enjoy me. After that Shami brings the letter which is called gold and silver to his home. After coming into the house, the women of the house welcome them by applying tilak at the door, taking off the aarti. It is believed that man has returned home after burning his evil, so he is welcomed. After this, that person takes blessings by giving Shami letters and touching the feet of elders. In this way, all the people of the house go to the neighborhood and relatives and give Shami letters and take blessings from the elders, give love to the younger ones and share happiness by hugging the equals.

If said in one line, then this festival is meant to strengthen mutual relations and increase brotherhood, in which human beings meet each other through one festival by clearing the mixture of hatred and enmity in their mind.

In this way, this festival is counted among the biggest festivals of India and is celebrated with full enthusiasm.

There is only one feeling behind religious beliefs in our country, which is the feeling of love and virtue. This festival reminds us of the power of unity, which we are forgetting due to the paucity of time, in such a situation, this festival keeps us tied to our foundation.

Changing The Form Of Dussehra

In today's time, festivals are taking a modern form by going away from their reality, which has reduced their importance somewhere. like-

It was a custom to visit each other's house on Dussehra, now these customs have taken the form of mobile calls and internet messages.

Shami did not go empty-handed, so Shami used to carry letters, but now instead he has started carrying sweets and gifts, due to which it has become a festival of competition with wasteful expenditure.

The legend behind the burning of Ravana was remembered so that everyone should get a message that ego destroys, but now various types of firecrackers are burst, due to which the wasteful expenditure has increased. At the same time, the problem of pollution is increasing and the accidents are also increasing.

Thus due to modernization, the form of festivals is changing. And somewhere common citizens are getting away from them considering them as a form of religious ostentation. Humans have spoiled their form. According to the Puranas, the form of all these festivals was very simple. There was no pretense in him but faith in God. Today they are getting so far from their foundation that bitterness is being filled in the mind of man. Humans have started seeing them as a waste of time and money.

All of us should understand this reality and celebrate festivals simply. Festivals also have a special contribution in keeping the economic system of the country smooth, so we should celebrate all festivals.
