On this day the Red Fort is broadcast live on TV's DD National Channel and All India Radio. Keeping in mind the threat of terrorism, strict security measures are also carried out.

With only the capital of the country, in all other states of the country, the Chief Minister also hoists the tricolor with respect. On August 15, our great freedom fighters are paid homage and are honored. Patriotic songs and slogans are chanted on this day. Some people celebrate the festival of freedom by flying kites.

In India, Swatantra Day is celebrated every year on 15 August. Freedom has special significance for every person, so this day is very important for every Indian. On 15 August 1947, India gained independence after the subordination of the British. We consider Independence Day as a national festival.

We gained independence only after many years of rebellions and on the midnight of 14 and 15 August 1947, India became an independent country. The flag of India was first unveiled by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the Red Fort in Delhi. He gave a "Tryst with Destiny" speech at the stroke of midnight. The whole nation listened to him with great joy and satisfaction. Since then every year on Independence Day, the Prime Minister hoists the national flag at the Red Fort in Old Delhi and addresses the public.
