But by the glory of the Lord, he covers the cloth Prahlada and Holika is consumed by burning. In this joy, Holi was celebrated by the townspeople on the second day. Since then Holika Dahan and Holi began to be celebrated.


On the day of Holika Dahan associated with the festival of Holi, every member of the family is offered ubutan (turmeric, mustard and curd paste). It is believed that on that day, all the diseases of a person are removed by applying the boil and every wood from all the houses of the village is given to burn in the bonfire. Along with burning wood in a fire, all the problems of people are also destroyed by burning. In the hullabaloo (noise) of Holi, even after the enemy is embraced, everyone forgets their mutual rivalry by doing their big heart.



"Sab Jag Hori or Braj Hora" means the unique Holi of Braj. Holi is considered a symbol of love in Barsana, a village in Braj. The men of Nandgaon and women of Barsana take part in this Holi because Shri Krishna was from Nandgaon and Radha from Barsana. While the men focus on soaking the women with a heavy atomizer, the women defend themselves and reply to their colors by lathis. Truly this amazing scene happens.


Holi has a different shade in Mathura and Vrindavan. Holi is celebrated here for 16 days. People drown in this holy festival by singing other folk songs like "Phag Khelan Aaye Nand Kishore" and "Udat Gulal Lal Bhai Badra".


Holi is celebrated in Maharashtra and Gujarat on Holi commemorating Bal Krishna's Bal Leela. Women hang butter-filled matki at high altitude and men try to break it and play Holi with the song Nanch.


In Punjab, this festival of Holi is seen as the power of men. From the second day of Holi, a six-day fair is held in the "Sikh holy place" Anandpur Saheb. Men participate in this fair and show tricks like horse riding, archery.


Holi is popularly known as Dole Purnima in Bengal and Orissa. On this day, the idol of Radha Krishna has seated indole and the yatra is performed in the entire village while doing bhajan kirtan and Holi is played with colors.


The "Thabal Changba" dance is organized in Manipur on Holi. Here, this festival goes on for the whole six days with dancing and singing and various types of competition.


Holi started from the rhythm of flying gulal and dholak from the full moon of Phalgun, is celebrated with joy in different ways in every corner of India. In the joy of this festival, all forgetting their mutual feelings and hugs each other.
