There is a reason or motive behind every action that happens in one's life. Similarly, there is a reason behind the customs associated with its culture. India is the only country where different cultures are highly valued.

In India, every person considers it appropriate to do all cultural works according to restraint, because behind these limitations, a detailed history and purpose are hidden. The importance of applying henna in marriage has also been developed on this basis.

Henna is also one of the various bridal creations. Brilliant henna along with sindoor, bangle, binding, redness, jewelry, etc. make up the beauty of the bride. This specialty of henna makes it the most special among the 16 adornments.

Various rites are performed by the girl before marriage. As well as the ritual of applying turmeric before marriage, the ceremony of henna is also given great importance. Turmeric is considered a well-wisher for a soon to be a married girl. But along with turmeric, henna has also made its own identity over the years.

Nowadays, the henna night is also organized specifically to perform the henna ritual. A song is played at this festival. The girl's relatives and siblings happily sing and dance. Beautiful henna is applied to the girl's hands and feet.

In today's era, the fashion of writing the name of her future husband with a beautiful henna design on the boy's hand has become quite popular. People believe that the stronger the color of the henna of the bride's hands, the more deeply she loves her husband.

After the color of henna, how long it remains on the bride's hands, it also shows the deep relationship between the bride and groom. Apart from the bride at the time of marriage, the bride's sisters, close relatives, and sakhis also apply henna.

Apart from marriage, nowadays it has become a custom to apply henna on various festivals such as Karva Chauth, Rakshabandhan, Deepawali, Bhai-Dooj, etc. But there is a history behind when and how henna made its way into Indian customs so deeply.

It is said that henna started when the Sultanate Empire made its roots in India in the 12th century. Henna was also considered a special decoration for the Mughals. Apart from makeup, it also used to do various types of decoration and medicine for them.

At that time, the use of henna was gradually increasing in Arabia as well as in India. Seeing the tradition of henna in the Mughals, it gradually started trending among Hindu families as well. But very few people know that henna was recognized in the Hindu religion thousands of years ago.

According to some folk tales, henna is directly related to the Mahakali form of Maa Durga. On the basis of folklore, when the Gods settled in the heavens were outraged by demons and they were unable to stop them, Mother Durga decided to help them.

Mother Durga began to destroy the demons in her Mahakali (extremely angry) form. At the time when Mother Durga was slaying the demons, at that time, the goddess in anger did not realize that she was completely filled with blood. Seeing this form of Goddess, the sage-muni and other gods got frightened.

For the first time, all the gods saw the mother in this form. Frightened, all the lord approached Indra and requested him to pacify the mother, but even there she did not get anything.

Devraj Indra told those sages and sages that only Mahadev, the God of the Gods, can do this work. They cannot help them any further.

All this life reached Lord Shiva as soon as possible. Knowing the trouble of the Gods, Lord Shiva assured them to calm the mother. As a result, Lord Shankar made the Goddess realize that her form is frightening to all.

Then Mother Durga revealed a goddess with her will power. This goddess was very beautiful, hence it was later called Sur Sundari. On the orders of Mother Durga, she became a goddess medicine and got decorated in the hands and feet of the goddess. After which Goddess Durga was very happy to see the hands and feet adorned by henna.

He gave a boon to Sur Sundari Devi and said, “O Goddess! Just as you have beautified me by taking the form of medicine, in the same way, you also enhance the beauty of all the women of the world and be worshiped as medicine. "

This is the reason why henna, along with being a makeup item, also works as a medicine. It is used as a medicine in various Ayurveda works. But do you know that applying henna also affects the lines of hands and feet?

It is believed that applying henna can also change a woman's hand lines. As a result of this, the doors of wealth and happiness and prosperity can open in life. It can make a person's life happy.

Not only this, astrology says that if a person is disturbed by the ill effects of a planet or there is a rift in marital relations, henna can be effective in filling those cracks too. Henna's red ruddy complexion is considered a symbol of bringing happiness to life.
